Feng Shui for Your Office
Feng shui is one of the ancient traditional practices that have found a place in modern life. Using this practice, it is believed to help one live life more enthusiastically and with greater abundance. This spiritual meaning is something that people have connected with since time immemorial. Today, people have adapted feng shui to modern life by mindfully decorating their homes and lived areas with the belief that it will have positive effects in their lives. When applying feng shui in any area, a special kind of map called a Bagua is used. These maps are freely available on the internet or your feng shui consultant may have his or her own preferred Bagua map. There are a total of nine areas on the map that correspond to such factors as prosperity, fame, productivity, and teamwork. A very good site that explains the Bagua map, specifically for the office is Open Space Feng Shui, click here to view this off-site resource.
When designing an office, special attention must be paid to the areas associated with wealth and fame. If you examine the Bagua map on Open Space Feng Shui website, you will see these are the rear center and rear left of your office space.
Energy flow is vital in the office to ensure productivity or success in your enterprise. Feng shui provides specific tips that we can use to adequately provide our offices and work spaces with appropriate Qi energy flow.
To start with, the desk should be in such a position that it will face the doorway. Alternatively, it will diagonally face the doorway. It is terribly important that you should not be seated at your desk with your back to the door. If there are two desks, they should face the door in a diagonal manner. If there are more than two desks, the additional desks should face the center of the office.
A classroom arrangement should be avoided; no matter the number of desks. Ideally, office workers should be able to view each other face to face. Partitions should be avoided at all costs.
Attention must also be paid to the walls. Remove mirrors, portraits, etc. Instead, give the walls a sense of life by placing flowers, plants, or vines here.
