Feng Shui for Your Kitchen

Chinese metaphysics recognizes five elements. These are metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. Each element is associated with particular colors. The metal element is associated with white and aqua blue. Green and hunter green are related to wood. Water is connected to black and navy blue. The colors light purple and red are linked to fire. And finally, earth is linked with light brown and yellow. With these colors you will be able to know which element is preferable and suits your needs.
Every room in your house needs to be looked at through the lens of feng shui. One of the central areas in our home is the kitchen. However, the kitchen should not be centrally located on the floor plan. You live in a house, not a restaurant. Assuming you have your architecture straightened out, there are six main points to keep in mind in the kitchen space:
• The kitchen should not be the first room you see when you enter the house.
• The kitchen should not be below the lavatory or adjacent to the bathroom. (It goes without saying that there should not be a toilet in the kitchen.)
• The kitchen should be clean, bright, well-lit and well ventilated.
• The kitchen should be gadget free. Keep things simple in your food preparation area.
• All the cabinets should be de-cluttered.
• Finally, always have a vase of fresh flowers or a fruit bowl in the kitchen to promote positive Qi energy.
